What is happening in this book is that there are 3 elaphants there is war right now so  every body is worried that it will break open the cages and the animal will go crazy and desroy every thing .So they say  we should kill all the animals they kill all the animal are killed exept the three elaphants the frist elaphant they killed was the oldest they killed hem with food poisoning.Then they kill the other one by starving them 3 day later they die  and 3 day later the war is over.I thought this book was sad alittel because all the animal are dead.
